Climbing Todra Gorge

Monday 6th January 2025

For this 3 hour walk,  I think I have to let the photos speak for themselves. High, desolte, barren but beautiful skies.

We spent a second night in the same hotel. In the evening we ate our regular communal dinner and ventured into more cards games and challenges to complete the 25 question quizzes that are published in The Australian. Our collective knowledge is quite good.

This might be a good time to talk about hot drinks in Morocco. They drink tea at any and every time of the day, but not the good old black tea that we are used to.

Their tea is made from a variety of mint, herbs, and other flora.  I did not like the taste of any of them and frequently started wheezing when sipping it. So I stopped.  It is served in small glass tumblers, and the challenge is to pour it from the metal pot as high as you can without spilling!

I was able to get boiling water for my flask in most places and had a ready stash of dilmah bags.

Coffee was provided at breakfast time, and this was served very strong.  Hot water was frequently required here as well.

We slept well on our second night and got ready for an early start to drive the several hours needed to transport us to the Hollywood heart of Morocco.
