See all the people!
Finally, at last, we discovered where all the people in Scandnavia are. they are in Bergen. It was flooded with people pushing and jostling, and eating, and scootering everywhere. It was busy. It was wonderful to see.
It was also hot.

Out for dinner
We decided to live it up a bit in Bergen (after eating home made meals on the cruise) by having a nosh up dinner at the famous Brygelofter restaurant. Family owned for generations.

The meal was good, the service friendly and our dinner neighbours the right amount of talkative. We did however, experience a glitch when we came to pay. My card was declined thrice. Debbies card was declined. It appeared after some invetigation on the part of the serving staff that the EFTPOS system was down all over Norway.
After about 20 minutes of waiting and trying, and retrying, and giving as a discount, and trying every machine in the building, the transaction finally went through. We returned to our apartment very worn out.
Floyen Apartments
Accommodation in Bergan is expensive, so we selected a room in an apartment with shared facilities. Expecting some doss-house, we were very surprised to find a modern apartment, with four locked private rooms and shared kitchen, lounge, toilet room, laundry room with shower, and shower room with toilet. The perfect combination to keep all residents clean.

Some adventurous and entrepreneurial young men

After returning from dinner, we met some out our housemates after they invited us to join them for a drink. Adrian (left) and Rone (right) were met in person for the first time after setting up a business together online 6 months ago. Adrian was the local and showing Rone, a young rig-worker from Canada, his part of the world.
They were boisterous as young men can be, but seemed to have a very clear idea about what they wanted to do with their lives, energy, drive and intellect. They were running online businesses and enjoying life for all it was worth.
By 11pm they were ready for the nightlife and go ‘bird hunting’. Armed with a tiktok account and a pickup line that goes something like, “do you want to be in our tiktok video?” they headed off into the night. They had strict warnings that if they brought girls home we would pretend to be their mothers!
We, on the other hand, were going ‘sleep hunting’ and headed off to bed without the benefit of mouthfuls of neat fireball!
