Wrapping up in Marrakesh

Saturday 11 – Sunday 12 January 2025

The Museum of Perfume

We looked around for some of the more unusual attractions in Marrakesh.  The museum cost 50 MAd each to enter and was very interesting.  https://www.benchaabane.com/lemuseeduparfum/

It documented the different aromas that contribute to the construction of moroccan perfumes and they had samples of the scents hanging next to each description.

We also visited the Museum of Women (40 MAD) which explained the contribution of many Moroccan women to political change in the country and the region.

The double entry doors were interesting.

As was the panoramic view of the internal construction of houses from the top.

Making the most of dwindling time

We spent a couple of hours wandering the streets and visiting parks, and of course, watching cats.

Farewelling our group

We ended the day with a shared drink at a rooftop bar. To say farewell to our travelling companions and our tour guide. This is how they serve gin and tonics in Marrakesh! Sorry it is blurry.

Tomorrow we pack up and head to the airport, so this will probably be the last post from North Africa. We have a few days in London to regroup before I head home, and Olivia seeks more adventures in British Columbia, Canada.
